It was a lovely day for the Salisbury Mini Rugby Festival with the sun coming through from time to time.
Andover's pool had Wimborne, Winchester, Bournemouth, Blandford and Salisbury.
In our first competitive match we looked rusty against a useful Wimborne side, however, the boys slowly began to improve in their subsequent matches and were much better supporting the ruck, quicker passing and crossing the try line on three occasions.
Today Andover U14 traveled to Alton to see who will be placed 3rd/4th in the County for next season. In wet windy conditions the 1st half was a game of attrition with neither side taking a backward step and the score remained 0-0 at half time. 2nd half both sides came out trying to impose some dominance. After numerous attacks, Alton started making inroads to the away teams 22 and after twice running the ball out the 3rd attack ended with a high kick deep into the 22 but it was caught well and the mark was called.
Andover ASF Partnership sponsored RFC U12s had a great day out at the Winchester Emerging Festival on Sunday.
In line with the ethos of an Emerging festival we selected a team based around our newest players - some of whom had not attended a festival before.
The boys started brightly in our first game against Gosport and Fareham, producing a 3-0 win.
