PLAY HARD - PLAY WELL - PLAY FAIR

About Us

The Squad Photo

The Under 13's age group trains every Sunday. At this stage of competitive rugby we aim to teach and develop the squad to play as a team, embrace the spirit of the game and most importantly have fun! We are playing to the new transitional rugby rules where the emphasis is on attacking space, offloading in contact.
We play against local clubs and enter a number of festivals and tournaments throughout the season.
We train on a Sunday morning from 10:00 AM until 12 noon (unless we have a match !). During our training sessions we combine structured drills with game based exercises. The structured drills focus on passing and tackling and techniques while game based exercises are aimed at improving reaction, decision making and team work. We encourage team play and to a friendly competitive spirit - with naturally a chance for parents to then cheer on in support of their children.
We always welcome new squad members and are happy for your child to come along and give rugby a try! The squad members are representative of most of the schools in the area and it is likely your Year 6 child will already know somebody that plays.
If you are interested in coming along, or if you have any questions, please give the Team Manager a call. Details are below.

Andover ASF Partnership sponsored RFC U12s had a great day out at the Winchester Emerging Festival on Sunday.

U11 Tour 2015 - 16/04/2015

Andover RFC U11s embarked on their inaugural rugby tour last weekend, to a two-day festival at Poole RFC. 18 of the lads made the journey, and by Friday evening were settled into the holiday park and in high spirits looking forward to their first day of rugby.

On Saturday we awoke to the sound of persistent rain, but hopes were high that the weather would clear, and so it did just in time for our first of five games for the day, against the Wycombe Renegades. We managed to get the boys into the right frame of mind from the outset, and Erik Ahl got us quickly off the mark with Andover’s first try. More tries followed from Stanley Bell, Harvey Bowen and Angus Sherwood to leave us 4-0 up at half time. The Renegades replied with a try early in the second half before Angus scored his second of the game, to finish 5-1.

U11 County Tournament - 08/03/2015

Andover U11s had a good day at the County tournament today. Our first match was against a Barbarian team made up of players from several other clubs. A good team try was finished off by Angus Sherwood, to get our campaign off the mark. Two further tries from Angus and one from Ollie Culley saw Andover to a 4-0 win. Next up we faced Fordingbridge where we struggled to fire on all cylinders until Erik Ahl scored to get us going. In the second half Angus again crossed over for his fourth of the day. Andover 2 - Fordingbridge 0 Game three against Trojans saw us attempt to keep our unbeaten run going. Luckily Alex Bilborough joined the party with two first half tries, and added a third in the second half, but not before Brandon-Lee Walters powered over for a good forwards' try. The win was blighted by Louis Davies picking up a shoulder injury. Andover 4 - Trojans 0. Next up we faced Gosport and Fareham (who we faced in the final of the last County Cup, way back in 2012!). The boys really clicked, playing about as well as any of the coaches can remember. Tries came for Peter Gregory, Adam Robinson, Alex Bilborough (2), Angus, and Stan Bell. The game finished with a wonderful team try where Mason made good ground, and the ball was recycled quickly down the line for Erik to cross in the corner, thanks to a selfless pass from Stan. Andover 7 - Gosport & Fareham 0. All this left, the Showlite sponsored team heading for a potential pool-winning decider match against New Milton, who were also unbeaten. A tough game saw us concede our first try of the day fairly quickly, before Mason Ardon levelled the score for Andover.
