About Us
We have a successful squad, but always welcome new players. If your child is in Year 7 at school, then this is the age group for them.
The training focuses on the fitness requirements for rugby: speed, agility, power, stamina etc, along with developing the skills required for the game. This includes handling, running and evasion, individual contact skills and team skills such as rucks & mauls, tackling, kicking and the specific skills of the scrum and lineout.
These are all taught in a safe, progressive manner, using RFU guidelines so they are enjoyable for all. The players require appropriate sports clothing, RFU approved studded boots and they must have a gumshield, available from the club shop. Kit can be bought from the club shop or from our Second Hand kit store, The Shed.
The main changes from last season are we play 13 a side, now including a six man scrum / lineout, which includes a number 8.
