Andover U8s made it through to the county final with convincing performances on the way. The boys beat all other opposition with score lines of 9 -3, 7 -2 and 8-3. The manner in which they played was a credit to the progress they have made through this session. They displayed excellent skills around the breakdown area off loading from the tackle and running first class support lines.
The performances the boys put in raised some eye brows amounts the other teams with questions being asked about the age of the players. Indeed a complement to their performance.
Additional complements came from another team's coach by virtue of the fact he brought his team over to watch the boys in their next game.
When it was time for the final the boys where unfortunate to miss out on the victory and where narrowly beaten by New Milton. Congratulations go to New Milton on their victory.
The team where clearly disappointed by the final result but accepted defeat with dignity and their performance throughout the day was a credit to themselves and their coaching staff.
Based on where the boys are at with their development next session should prove to be an interesting challenge which they are clearly ready for and can't wait to get into full contact rugby.
Well done to all involved.
