Andover U7’s sponsored by Burbidge’s Bakery fielded 2 teams in Sundays Hampshire U7’s County tournament held at Petersfield.
Split into 2 different leagues Andover “A” played 4 won 4 as they eased through their group stages to top their league.
Andover Jets played 4 won 3, narrowly losing their final game but this didn’t prevent them topping their league as well.
In the semi final a combined Andover team were drawn against Alton, we decided to merge the 2 teams, playing the Jets in the first half and the other team during the second half.
At the end of full time the scores were locked at 6-6 so the game went into extra time. Andover had 2 tries disallowed before Alton game out on top at the final whistle.
We then played Petersfield in the Plate Final and won this game quite convincingly and earning a very creditable 3rd place in the county tournament.
Well done to all the boys who played fantastically; Lewis, Erik, Tommy, Michak, Lukas, Bob, Stanley, Sebastian, William, Lewis, Alex and Ollie.
Tommy Davies deservedly won the Andover player of the day award.
