Andover U7’s travelled to Basingstoke on Sunday 11th December. Andover travelled with a large squad of 24 players and Basingstoke also had 24 players.
The session began with a combined warm up which included Bull Dog and some handling drills. The two squads then split into six teams of four with Basingstoke rotating pitches.
Team captains for the day were Max Whiteside, Ben Gregg, Mathew Marques, Harry Colman, George Goodridge and George Coltard and the captains lead their teams to an undefeated morning of matches. All of the games were played in great spirit with Andover showing some great running skills enabling them to score some excellent tries. Once again, Andover was tagging any opposition player that moved and Basingstoke showed some quality support play and nice passing when tagged.
Some of the players who stood out for their efforts on the day were George Coltart who was playing in his first competitive matches were a captain for the day and lead from the front tagging and scoring some great tries. Lance McBride showed great pace to score some quality tries and as normal Archie Anderson showed 100% commitment in his efforts to tag any Basingstoke player who had the ball and Mathew Dean showed great pace and skill to score some outstanding tries.
