You may be aware that I have been liaising with London Irish for them to hold a 3 day Easter Holiday MasterClass (rugby camp) at Andover RFC. This has now been confirmed and the details are as follows:
What is a MasterClass and what do the players do whilst they are there? - The London Irish Community Team will be coming to Andover RFC during the second week of the Easter Holidays - from Monday 12th – Wednesday 14th April.
All the participants will be given a Rugby MasterClass in all areas of the game, helping to improve their: Handling, Tackling and Defence, Collision Skills, Decision Making, Game Sense, Positional Play, Support Play, and Kicking!
What time does MasterClass start and finish?- The camp commences each day from 09.30am concluding at 15.30 - please ensure that arrangements are in place for your child to be collected from the club shortly after the finish time.
As well as top quality rugby coaching from the London Irish Community Coaching team, the MasterClass Experience also includes:
- A free T-Shirt
- A free Match Ticket to watch London Irish live at The Madejski Stadium (v Northampton Saints on Saturday 8th May 2010)
- Plus the opportunity to win other fantastic Prizes throughout the 3 day MasterClass camp
What ages can attend?- U7's (depending on sufficient numbers), U8's, U9's, U10's, U11's, U12's, U13's, U14's, U15's and U16's Ideally we need at least 12 players per age group or 12 per two similar age groups (e.g. U7s & U8s, U9s & U10s etc)
How much does this all cost?- 3 day MasterClass campsare usually priced at £ 105 but having negotiated a special price with London Irish, Andover Youth Academy members will be able to get all the above for just £95! (cheques payable to Andover RFC, however If you would like the opportunity to pay by the £95 by instalments, then please speak to Sam Luke).
Lunch time arrangements? - If you would like your child to enrol on the 3 day MasterClass - please can you ensure that they come each day with a packed lunch + they bring plenty to drink (including a bottle that they can refill with water during the course of each day)
How do I enrol my child on MasterClass at Andover? - To book, simply contact your team manager advising them of your child's name, address, contact number etc, together with payment of the attendance fee (£95) by TUESDAY 6th APRIL latest to secure a place.
This is a very good scheme which has developed and improved during the past 4 years and in my view offers good value for money.
