Andover Colts 20 – Tadley Colts 8
After the polished performance in the latter stages of the game at Portsmouth last week the second outing of the season for the Oakwood sponsored Andover colts was initially a little disjointed. Up against a determined Tadley side Andover fell behind to a penalty but kept the visitors at bay until an Andover penalty enabled fly half Joe Joy to level the scores. Pressure from Tadley led to a try in the corner and when they threatened again Charlie Horrell turned defence into attack with a fine run shrugging off Tadley tackles before setting up Gabe Williams to score under the posts and take a two point half time lead.
The second period saw a more determined Andover, they were solid in defence and their patience was rewarded with a 50m dash from Ioan Gwynne-Davies extending the lead to seven points. Tadley were a constant threat but Josh Middleton came in from the wing to score and provide a comfortable cushion which Andover held onto for the last few minutes to seal a well deserved victory. A hard fought game, well refereed by the official and a second win for Andover in their league campaign.
