Andover 24-5 Overton

Andover 3's made the short trip to Overton this week seeking revenge for the defeat at the beginning of the season.

The Fighting Falcons sponsored 3's started well making the usual inroads through their forwards and with proud dad and scrum half Tim Gibbs orchestrating things well it was one of his two sons Josh Gibbs who broke the Overton defence to open the scoring and also kicking the  extras.

Andover continued to thwart any attempts by Overton and huge hits from skipper Bert Baxter, Phil Mcann and the ever impressive Sam Gibbs enabled Gibbs Snr to turn over quick ball and unleash speedster Vee to skip round the attempted tackles and outpace the home sides fullback taking his tally to 5 tries in 3 games. Again Josh Gibbs adding the extras.

With the pitch becoming a mud bath it was the forwards turn to apply the pressure and with New powerhouse Ben Spray on his first outing for the club showed he has a lot to offer crashing over the line for his debut try.

The All Blacks continued to apply the pressure and it wasn't long before they were on the scoreboard again, this time Sam Thompson crossed the line with Gibbs narrowly missing the conversion.

Overton had the final say scoring an impressive try through their forwards to end the match 24-5.

Andover take on Winchester at the Goodship this Saturday looking to take their unbeaten run to 7 games.
